Are query parameters removed from URLs

#1

Are URLs normalized?

I noticed that a URL I searched for (with the href filter) could not be found if I added query parameters to it. Are query parameters always stripped from the href field? If a website had a url of the form “http://badidea.com/articles?articleId=23423”, would I be able to find that, or would it be stored as “http://badidea.com/articles”?

Hi!

Yes, we normally strip the query parameters before storing them. We check to see what the canonical is and that is used the the primary key for the URL. Could you confirm the URLs you were searching for please and we could help debug further.

Thank you!
